Steve Overcash

Stephen Thomas Overcash, 60, of Mooresville, passed away Friday, May 16, 2008 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Born June 21, 1947 in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Troy Thomas Overcash and Virginia Dare Loftin Overcash. He was a graduate of Troutman High School and was the owner and operator of Overcash Environmental Services. He had also been self-employed in furniture refinishing and had been an engineer in the furniture manufacturing industry. He enjoyed painting cars and boats, working in his flowers and keeping his yard beautiful. Steve is survived by his daughter, Crystal Elizabeth Overcash of Mooresville; two grandsons, Cameron and Caleb Overcash of Mooresville; the grandmother of his grandsons, Linda Hager; and aunts, Hazel L. Tolbert and Thelma L. Tolbert of Cleveland, Martha L. Kirby and husband, Gene, of High Point, Margaret S. Loftin of Statesville and Evelyn Overcash. A number of cousins also survive. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 20 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. David Reep and Rev. Joe Parker officiating. Interment followed in Iredell Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were Cameron and Caleb Overcash, Bradley Kirby, Dale Tolbert, Joe Moore, Ivan Loftin, Stan Batts, Phil Danner, Chuck Fox, Mike Hensley, Shawn Ogden, Ramone Garcia, Gary Mercer and Walter Plyler.
