William Jackson Obituary

William Charles Jackson, 75, of Mooresville, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. He was born on May 26, 1934 in Rowan County to the late Vastine A. and Ivy Correll Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a farmer. He was a longtime active member of Prospect Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon for more than 40 years, cemetery superintendent, Sunday school superintendent for many years and member of the Heritage Committee. Mr. Jackson was also a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sarah Bradshaw Jackson; children, Elaine J. Boyles and husband, Tommy, and Charles "Eddie" Jackson and wife, Lisa, all of Mooresville; brother, Allen Jackson and wife, Ann, of Mooresville; grandchildren, Matthew William Hagerty and wife, Candace, April Ivy Jackson and Kevin Lee Jackson; and step-grandchildren, Catherine Boyles and Amanda Boyles. A memorial service was held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 9, at Prospect Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joanne Hull officiating. Memorials may be made to Prospect Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 9425 W. NC Hwy 152, Mooresville, NC 28115 and/or the National Kidney Foundation, 5950 Fairview Rd., Suite 550, Charlotte, NC 28210. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville served the family of Mr. Jackson.

My family's thoughts and prayers are with you. I grew up with the Jackson family and have fond rememberances of William, Sarah, Elaine and Eddie. William was a kind man and the community will miss him.

I am sorry to hear of Mr. Jacksons passing. I remember him from the (CB)radio days. I talked to him a lot in those years ago. Farm Boy,I think he went by.
