Coach Womack had just completed our recreation baseball practice, when I was 8 or 9 years old, 1961 or 62. In my haste to practice, I got off my bicycle, and laid it down behind coach Wommacks car. He was not aware that I had left it there. He got in his car put it in reverse and crushed my bike. He got out, came to me and apologized. He put my bike in his trunk, got me in and drove me home. He was great coach, and a fine person.
