Janette Barsanti Obituary

Janette was born in San Jose to Ray and Freda Fleetwood at Alexian Brothers Hospital. As the youngest of six daughters, Janette was always surrounded by family and friends. As a child she grew up learning to play the piano and cheerleading for James Lick High School. She graduated in 1978 and went on to pursue her Marketing degree at San Jose State University. One of her first jobs was working behind the counter at Zales Jewelry, which nearly bankrupted her family as they helped her become one of the top salespeople. After college she raised her family in Morgan Hill. She was an incredible mother who supported her 2 children in their school and extracurricular activities. After her children went off to college, Janette found her passion in real estate. She became a top producing agent for over 20 years and in 2021 she was voted "Realtor of the Year" by her peers. During her career in real estate, she met the love of her life, Steve Barsanti, and they married on July 28, 2012. Flowers are welcome as are donations in
her memory to the National Brain Tumor Society at https://nbtsevents.braintumor.org/fundraiser/4355494.

Janette and I went to the same junior high school. I was listening to Christmas carols just now, online, and I thought of Janette, whom I didn't know personally. We had a Christmas program at school, and Janette sang "O Holy Night". She sang it perfectly. I heard her sing it over fifty years ago, and still remember her performance years later. I am sorry that she passed. I looked her up to see what became of her; it's clear she had a good life.

I met Janette when she was assigned to be a realtor on one of my family law cases in 2009, and instantly fell in love with her warmth and kindness. She has been a friend ever since. My husband and I got to know Steve when he moved across the street when he and Janette were dating. I am so sad to hear the news that Janette passed, and very sad to miss her service this morning. I got to talk to her a few times while she was fighting cancer, and I was so impressed with her strength and determination. One time when I called her, she was in the car with one of her wonderful female friends who was driving her to chemo and they were laughing and joking. Sending condolences to Steve and Janette's family and her dear friends. What a smile, what a laugh, what a lady. I will miss her terribly.

When Janette and Steve moved into our neighborhood, it was obvious that they were a dynamic duo, both individually and separately. Janette possessed a friendliness and warmth that made you want to be around her. Her eyes would light up when she talked to you and it was clear she loved people. I will miss her and will always remember what a blessing she was in my life.
