Charles "Chuck" "Chucky" Walter Ledford
Charles "Chuck or Chucky" Walter Ledford, 50, of Morganton, died Friday, April 30, 2021, at his home.
He was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church of Morganton, and enjoyed driving trucks at long distances for many years before retiring and loved helping his family and friends doing odd jobs. He considered himself a "Jack of All Trades and a Master of None," but his family knew there was nothing he would not or could not do.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jack A. Ledford, and Nancy S. Benfield; sister, Bonnie L. Strowd and husband, Michael Strowd; stepsisters, Angela Chase and Deanna Benfield; stepbrother, Ricky Benfield and fianceé, Shanda Cox, of the home; son, Andrew Cox; daughter, Ciara Cox (Jonathan Stidham); grandchildren Rahelyn and Greyson Stidham; future mother-in-law, Tonie Cox and her fiancé, Al Smith; two fur babies, Bear and Malia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Arnold "Whitey" Benfield; and grandparents, Charlie and Lucy Ledford and Walter and Bonnie Steele.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 4, at Burkemont Baptist Church located at 4668 Burkemont Rd. in Morganton, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with graveside service directly after.
