Clementine Butler

Mrs. Clementine Perrou Butler, 85, of Valdese, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, after a brief illness. Mrs. Butler was born Jan. 13, 1923, in Burke County, to the late Frank and Janie Pons Perrou. She was a member of the Waldensian Presbyterian Church and the women's circle of the church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are her husband, William B. Butler Sr. of the home; two daughters, Mary Louise Harris and her husband, Doug, of Hickory and Janie Harrelson and her husband, Dan, of Easley, S.C.; one brother, Benjamin Perrou of Valdese; five sisters, Madeline Blizzard of Winston-Salem, Anita West and Adeline Murray of Valdese, Josephine Yoder of Virginia Beach, Va. and Peggy Jane Verreault of Anderson, S.C.; and her grandchildren, Holly Harris Powell and her husband, Philip, Lindsay Harrelson, Lauryn Harrelson and Daniel Harrelson Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William B."Bill" Butler Jr.; and three brothers, Stephen, Albert and Ernest Perrou. Funeral services for Clementine Perrou Butler will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Waldensian Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kevin Frederick officiating. Interment will follow in the Burke Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday in Pioneer Hall of the Waldensian Presbyterian Church.
