Greer Thurman Isaacs, 93, of Morganton, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021.

Born May 12, 1928, he was the son of the late James Harley Isaacs and Nona Greer Isaacs. Greer was an avid hunter in Colorado for over 25 years; loved to garden, being outdoors, and especially loved his family. He always had a smile on his face and now he is rejoicing with this family in Heaven and is in no pain.

Greer is survived by his daughters, Doris Ebert (Tim), Linda Isaacs (Greg Ward); grandson, Richie Roper; stepgrandchildren, Michelle Bollinger, Melissa Patton, Tim Patton; many great-grandchildren; and brothers, Bud Isaacs and Bill Isaacs.

In addition to his parents, Greer was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Pearl Lina Isaacs; sisters, Eloise Woods, Mable Isaacs, Adalee Stephens, Francis Yelton; brothers, Carol, Ernest, and Vaughn Isaacs; and stepgrandson, Caleb Bollinger.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, at Sossoman Funeral Home. A crypt-side service will be held at noon at Burke Memorial Park, with the Rev. David Orders officiating.

The family wants to thank his home health nurse, Cheryl; and a special friend that took care of him, Gladys Cooper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glenwood Baptist Church, 155 Glenwood Baptist Church Rd., Marion, NC 28752.
