Josie Kristen Jaquins, 38, of Morganton, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2020.
Born in Burke County, Sept. 14, 1982, she was the daughter of Linda Gail Martin Morton and the late Steve Wilson Smith. Josie was a member of Catawba Valley Baptist Church. A fun loving, bubbly, kind-hearted person, Josie loved her family and friends, and especially her dog, Mya. She was a beautiful person inside and out.
In addition to her mother, Josie is survived by husband, D.J. Jaquins II; sister, Kiley Smith Helton; nephews, Parker Bryson Helton and Bentley Cruze Huff; grandmother, Linda Ruth Martin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other family members.
Josie was preceded in death by her father; paternal grandparents, Geree and Bessie Smith; and maternal grandfather, Bob Martin Sr.
The graveside service for family and close friends will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at Forest Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jess Lott officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center, 201 Tabernacle Rd., Black Mountain, NC 28711.
