Patsy Berry Obituary

Patsy Berry MORGANTON Patsy Nesbitt Berry, 77, of Morganton, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born Sept. 28, 1935, in McDowell County, she was a daughter of the late Judson Ewart Nesbitt and Polly Esther Finley Nesbitt. Patsy attended Arneys Chapel United Methodist Church. She loved music of all types, and was devoted to her family. A wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Patsy is survived by her husband, James B. Berry, of the home; daughter, Anne Stephens and husband, Rick, of Morganton; sons, Burton Berry and wife, Audrey, of Morganton, Charles Berry and wife, Beth, of Moorestown, N.J., and John Berry and wife, Dawn Koch-Berry, of Hanover, Pa.; grandchildren, Amanda Knutson, Elizabeth Berry, Jordan Anthony, Grant Stephens, Charles Berry, Jr., Ward Berry, Andrew Berry and Tod Berry; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Owen, Caleb and Olivia Knutson, and Ella Anthony; and siblings, Brenda Tate, Don Nesbitt, Becky Hemphill, Martha Beck and Joan Hensley. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Arneys Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Stephenson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arneys Chapel United Methodist Church, 101 Knowles Ave., Morganton, NC 28655. I have such fond memories of Pat`s smiling face each time she walked into our house. She brought us such joy & energy.Mother loved her as "one of her own". She was a very special lady & will be missed dearly. I share in your loss; James, kids & grandkids!
