Patsy Ramsey

Patsy Carol Wright Ramsey, 77, of Johnson Bridge Road in the George Hildebran community entered her Heavenly Home on Dec. 12, 2009, at her residence while surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness. Patsy was born on Jan. 4, 1932, to the late Earl Leroy and Zena Brittain Wright of George Hildebran. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Wilkies Grove Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the Woman's Missionary Union. Patsy retired from Alba Waldensian after serving 45 years; she started as a boxer in the plant and after many years of hard work her position upon retiring was purchasing agent. She also worked part-time at Members Credit Union in Valdese. Patsy followed in her mother's footsteps in being an avid flower lover. She had one of the most beautiful flower gardens in the George Hildebran area. In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by a brother, Yates Norman Wright. Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Otis Millard Ramsey of the home; daughter Reba Ramsey Cox and husband Tony of Valdese; son Richard Wright Ramsey and wife Jiny of George Hildebran; sister Margaret Wright Whitmore and husband Jim of Lake Lure; three grandchildren, Michelle Hoyle McCall of George Hildebran, Natalie Cox Cloer and husband Brad of Morganton and Joshua Wright Ramsey and fiancé Becca Pirucki of George Hildebran; and four great-grandchildren, Stacey McCall and fiancé TJ Clay, Ashton Cloer, Taylor Cloer and Noah Ramsey. Mrs. Ramsey was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is also survived by many friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be at Wilkies Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ray Raymer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese. At other times the family will be at the Ramsey home, 5415 Johnson Bridge Road, Hickory, NC 28602.
