February 21, 1941 - November 20, 2025
Ms. Peggy Maxine Woody Albright, 84, of Morganton, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at UNC-Blue Ridge Morganton, following a brief illness.
Peggy was born on February 21, 1941 in Burke County to the late Bill Woody and Gladys Cline Woody. She was a member of Drexel First Baptist Church and was a retired registered nurse. Her faith in Jesus was the foundation of her life. She actively participated in several ministries at DFBC. In 1984 she went on a medical missionary trip to Togo, Africa, to establish a medical facility. Next to her faith, her family meant everything to her, and she had a generous heart that manifested itself in the care and love she gave to her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing mother and spouse that always put others first. Peggy's hands loved to serve and touched countless lives throughout her 30-year career as a registered nurse. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, generous heart, love of music, and infectious sense of humor that welcomed everyone to laugh with her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Phil Stamey and Bob Cline.
Surviving are her three sons, Mike Albright and wife, Patty of Drexel, Roy Albright Jr. and fiancé, Angela Riddle of Drexel, and Jason Albright and wife, Leah of Granite Falls. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Dalton and Andrew Albright, and Elijah and Hannah Albright; a sister, Anna Coley and husband Durran; one brother, Buddy Stamey; and her partner and companion, Terry White.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Heritage with Rev. Mike Chandler officiating
The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in Peggy's memory.
