Ruby Walker

Mrs. Ruby Lutz Walker, 84, of Valdese, died Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Carolina Rehab of Burke after a period of declining health. Mrs. Walker was born Feb. 11, 1926, in Catawba County to the late Bider Orias and Car-rie Rhoney Lutz. She retired from Valdese Mfg. Co. after many years of service and a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Valdese. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Doc Edison Walker, on Feb. 4, 2008, and a brother Hoke Lutz. Surviving are three sons, Gary Walker and wife, Brenda, of Casar, Donny Walker of Connelly Springs and Clarence Buff and wife, Julie, of Hickory; three daughters, Kay Rector and husband, Julius Lee Jr., of Icard, Brenda Walker of the home and Ruby Lynn of Connelly Springs; two brothers, Carl Lutz of Hickory, Noah Lutz of Newton; three sisters, Mary Johnson of Hildebran, Virginia Buff of Casar and Martha Hunneycutt of Franklin. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Graveside services for Ruby Lutz Walker will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Burke Me-morial Park with the Rev. Ande Myers officiating.
