William Canipe Obituary

William Canipe MORGANTON William Jack Canipe, 72, of Morganton, went to his Heavenly Home Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011. Born in Burke County, June 25, 1939, he was the son of the late William Wesley Canipe and Mary Edna Powell Canipe. William was a member of Union Baptist Church in Lawndale. William worked at Drexel Heritage Furnishings for many years and later started Southern Exposure with his son. He had many friends and the community will remember his as "the mulch man". William is survived by his son, Kevin Canipe and his wife, Beverly, of Morganton; a daughter, Jackie Greer and her husband, David, of Morganton; grand-children, Katie Canipe, Kristen Canipe, Heather Canipe, Kyle Orders, Cole Orders, Ashlee Greer, and Jacob Greer; and a brother, Dean Canipe of Shelby. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Ednita Brown Canipe. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Rev. David Orders and Jim Tabor officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. At other times the family will be at the home of Kevin and Beverly Canipe. Condolences may be made online at www.sossomanfuenralservice.com.

sorry to hear about Jacks passing.Dad really hated when he left Drexel to work with his son,but he had to leave.Was a hard worker and honest man.He will be missed.

Sorry to hear the passing of Jack.Jack was one of our dancing friends. The six of us would go out to eat and then to many dances this passed year.Henry and Lucille Norman and us,Nancy and Derald Sweeney. He will be missed.
