Alecia Ulcar Obituary
Alecia Ulcar (Abrahamowicz), age 56, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 in Westlake, Ohio at the Rae-Ann Suburban Skilled Nursing Facility, after a long battle with cancer. Born December 28, 1956 in Amherst, Ohio, Alecia grew up in Sheffield Lake and was a graduate of Brookside high school class of 1975.
Residing in Elyria, she worked for the Educational Service Center of Lorain county as a Claims Supervisor for nearly 25 years, and anyone that knew her, knew she truly loved her job. She enjoyed spending time with her family, always putting her two daughters above anything else. She loved animals, and donating money to charities including the Humane Society, ASPCA, and St. Jude Children's Hospital. She also enjoyed vacationing yearly in Riviera Maya, Mexico with her sister Mary.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, Matthew Ulcar; loving daughters, Erika and Andria Ulcar, also of Elyria; her mother Helen Burke of Alexandria, Va.; dear sister to Mary Jarosz, Ann Toth, George Abrahamowicz, Victor Abrahamowicz, Sonya Coulter; adored aunt by many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend to Pam Johnson, and Sue Mrosek (Mattey). Alecia will be missed dearly by so many supportive friends, The Rulli Family, and her cats.
She was preceded in death by her father Henry Abrahamowicz, her nephew Joseph Smith, and brother -in- law David Jarosz.
A private memorial service and mass will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society and the Lorain County Animal Protective League. Arrangement are being handled by Wyers Funeral Chapel of Sheffield Township.

I know this is on the late side but was really sad to hear this news today from my mom. I have such fun memories especially of our crazy home ec class in freshman year. Much love, grace & comfort to Alecia's family - Mary & Anne whom I knew & friends, esp Sue & Pam, my fellow classmates. I have a 501c3 non-profit rescue group for animals in Los Angeles & will rescue the next animal in her honor.

My condolences to Matt and the entire Ulcar and Abrahamowicz families. I'm very sorry about the loss of Alecia. I just go back in time, to all those days filled with laughter, as a friend, interacting with Matt and the entire Abrahamowicz family on Dillewood.
