Ann Masin Obituary

STRONGSVILLE - Ann E. Masin (nee Zima), 73, of Strongsville, died Wednesday November 2, 2011 at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland after a brief illness.
She was born April 15, 1938 in Lorain and had resided in Strongsville for the past 21 years moving from Ellicott City, Maryland. Ann was a 1956 graduate of St. Mary Academy in Lorain. She attended Kent State University and received her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. Ann began her teaching career at St. Stanislaus School in Lorain, taught in Missouri and SS Peter and Paul Elementary School in Garfield Heights retiring in 1997. She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Strongsville and a past member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain.
Ann enjoyed playing the piano, walking, reading and art. She was close with her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years Frank Masin, children Jeffrey Masin (Le Anne) of North Canton, Jon Masin (Kelly) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Frank Masin (Amy) of Bel Air, Maryland, 6 grandchildren, sisters Marilyn Finch and Agnes Bailey, both of Lorain and brother Joseph Zima of Fenton, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph V. and Anna M. Zima (nee Firca), brother Joseph Firca and sister Mary.
The family will receive friends Friday 5-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:00 am at Mary Mother of God Parish, 310 8th St, Lorain. (Please meet at the church). Cremation will follow.
