Our deepest condolences to Kathy and the family. Don was one of the very best players to come out of Lorain. From Little League, through Hot Stove and HS we competed. Tough competitor, but good friend always. I'm glad we had a chance to talk a couple months ago. He'll be missed for sure.
Sincerely,
Judi & Bob Greuter

I played ball with Don a few years on doyle electric. Sometimes I would be the catcher for infield practice and when he would throw the ball back it felt like it was a shotput. rest in peace Don.

Growing up in the Larkmoor school area of Lorain I only knew Don's two brothers but rest assured everyone knew who Don was. I finally had the pleasure of meeting Don in 1985 while coaching his oldest son Adrian in Class F baseball, eventually getting to know his entire family. Don was an imposing but quiet and humble man, upstanding with tremendous family values, a great father and husband. My deepest sympathies to the entire Abrahamowicz family

Adrian, my heartfelt condolences go out to you and your entire family on the passing of your Dear Father. I know how proud your Father must have been to see the love of sports being carried on in his family for generations. I worked at Kohlmyer Sports and remember him as well as you coming in for sports equipment. May the happiest of his memories help you get through the days ahead as you grieve the loss of a man that was very inspirational in your lives.

Deeply saddened by Don's passing. He was the family sports hero. As a kid I watched him play football, basketball, and, of course, baseball for Lorain High. I remember Cleveland Municipal Stadium and watching Don throw next to Sonny Siebert. Don threw harder. Don's greatest legacy, though, will be his family and future sports heroes.
Sincere condolences to Don's family from my family.
