Edward Pavlich Obituary

Edward M. Pavlich ELYRIA — Edward M. Pavlich, age 77, of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Life Care Center Nursing Home in Elyria. He was born on September 26, 1935 in Lorain, Ohio to the late Peter and Mary (nee Hunyad) Pavlich Sr. He graduated from Clearview High School in 1953. Upon his graduation he enlisted with the United States Marine Corps. He was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant on December 8, 1956. Edward was most recently employed by Let's Go Travel from 1990 -1995 prior to that he was employed by Ford Motor as an automobile inspector and assembly line worker for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Elyria, the VFW, American Legion and the Marine Corps League. He was a Boy Scout Leader, Baseball Coach and served as a volunteer fireman for Elyria Twp. Fishing, hunting, bird watching, gardening and traveling were the hobbies that he most enjoyed. Edward was a family man and spending time with them brought him much joy. He is survived by his 4 sons, Timothy, of Kenosha, WI, Mark, of Amherst, OH, Bryan (Michele), of Springboro, OH and Gregory (Michelle), of Sandusky, OH; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jonathan) Demorest, Corey Pavlich, Tiphany Pavlich, Rachel (Earl Jr.) Eans, Morgan Pavlich, Evan Pavlich and Brianna Pavlich; great-grandchildren, Zoe Demorest and Mackenzie Eans; brother, Peter Pavlich Jr. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Marie (nee Bors), in 1983 and his second wife, Patrica Ann (nee Ursic), in 2013; and siblings, Betty Swetz, Barb Pavlich, Mary Wisniewski and Frank Pavlich. The Pavlich family will receive friends on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 2:00- 5:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst .Closing prayers will be said on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria. Rev. Fr. Donald Dunson, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW Post # 451 and the American Legion Post # 30. Uncle Ed was a wonderful man and will be missed. He had such a big heart and took care of my Aunt Pat until she passed. RIP.
