Sheffield Lake: Emilia Koczan, 97, of Sheffield Lake, passed away Friday February 18, 2022.She was born July 15, 1924 in Poland. In 1949, she married Raymond Koczan and in 1953 moved from England to the United States with her family. She resided in Lorain and then Sheffield Lake.Emilia was a loving, feisty and independent 97 year old. She is survived by three daughters: Elizabeth Nikora (Lewis, deceased), Veronica Lugar (Dennis, deceased) and Theresa Andre (Michael); her joy, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sister Zdzislawa “Jean” Blaz and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, mother Elzbieta Ksiazek and brother George Ksiazek. The family will honor their mother’s wishes as there will be no funeral services. She will be laid to rest near her mother and next to her husband at St Mary Cemetery in Elyria.Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Lorain.
