Georgina Gracia Obituary
LORAIN - Georgina "Geor" Gracia (nee Alicea), age 89, of Lorain, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.
She was born on March 17, 1923, in Corozal, Puerto Rico. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel. She enjoyed collecting dolls, cooking, and working in her garden.
Georgina is survived by her sons; Jose, Victor, and Carlos, all of Lorain, 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Juanita, Elvira, and Constanza, all of Puerto Rico, Nydia Diaz, of Chicago, and Eva Alvarez, of Lorain, and a brother, Cesar Alicea, of Puerto Rico.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Mariano, Sr., in 2001, daughter, Myriam Gracia, in 2010, sons; Mariano, Jr., in 1985 and Raymond, in 1979, a grandson, Mariano Rivas III, in 2006, a great great grandson, Michael Serrano, brother, Jose Alicea, sister, Carmen Burgos, and parents; Leonides and Mariana (nee Alvarez) Alicea.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 4, from 9:30 am until 10:30 am, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Her funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am, at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Fr. William Thaden, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
