Helen Lyons Obituary
Helen was born in Portsmouth and lived there until she married her husband of 60 years Hobart S. Lyons. With abundant love, courage, grace, kindness and humility she dedicated the rest of her life to the service of God.
She was the mother of Rebecca (Stanley) Kotowski, grandmother of Rachel (Rocky) Houston, Brandi (Jeremiah) Borer, great-grandmother of Madilynn Bonner, Dylan Decker, Rocky D. Houston, Helayna Houston and Kalynn Borer and sister of Charlotte Baker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Hobart S. Lyons, son Shelby Lyons, granddaughter Amy Bonner, parents William and Edna Biggs, brother Robert (Mary) Biggs, sister Marcella Biggs and infant brother Harold Biggs.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking and baking, golfing, reading, listening to music and supporting the Arts. Ministering to those in need, leading and teaching the children about Christ's love, and entertaining her friends and neighbors brought her tremendous joy. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. When death closes our eyes we shall awaken to a light, of which our sunlight is but the shadow (Arthur Schopenhauer).
A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 2-4 p.m., at A Fresh Wind Church, 1115 Milan Avenue, Amherst, Ohio.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 2173 North Ridge Road, Lorain, OH 44055, or Disabled American Veterans, 1035 East 9th St., Cleveland, OH 44115.

Helen taught me about being a "true" friend. I could not of had a better friend. Every time that I visited Helen, I left her feeling so blessed. Helen loved the Lord. She would share many stories of her life with her husband, Hobe. She cherished all of her family dearly. Many individuals will miss Helen, however, she is now where she wanted to be, in heaven and reunited with her husband of love and her Savior.

Helen was a beautiful and inspiring lady. I always looked forward to our times of fellowship. She is so dear to our hearts. Helen you are engraved in memories I could never forget. Thank you for being the perfect example of how to be a Godly woman of Christ. Love you always R.I.P.

We will always think of Helen as kindness and love! We were a young newly married couple when we joined Westlake Church of Christ in 1987. Hobe and Helen and Harold and Hannah Blackburn were prominent influences in the church(now Hope Christian Church)and in our lives. It's hard to believe how much has taken place since! Helen was a big part of it all! We will surely miss Helen until we meet again!
