James Gilbo Obituary

LAGRANGE - James "Jim" H. Gilbo, 84, of Lagrange, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
He was born on Aug. 29, 1931, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the son of the late Frank and Amanda (Kraemer) Gilbo.
Jim was a beloved husband of Gloria (Bradley) Gilbo; father to Jim, Patti, and Deborah; step-father to Mark, Scott, and Tami Kleister; and devoted and cherished "Papa" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also a great friend to many people.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean and Okinawa Wars. He was honorably discharged. He worked as a FAA supervisor in Oberlin for 32 years.
Jim and Gloria lived in Florida for 27 years. He was an avid softball and basketball player. He enjoyed golfing, being on the beach, and gardening and planting flowers. He especially loved spending time with his family and helping others.
"Papa, you will be forever missed and loved."
At the family's request, private services will be held. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
