John Snell Obituary
He was born December 23, 1950 in Lorain and had been a life long Vermilion resident. John graduated from Vermilion High School in 1969 and was a veteran of the US Navy serving during Vietnam.
John worked as a welder and then in sales for Shan-Rod Inc., Berlin Heights, retiring after 40 years in 2013.
He was a life member of Amvets Post #22. He enjoyed fishing, restoring his classic 1969 Mustang, and being in the outdoors. Most importantly he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and going on family vacations.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan (nee Pierce) Snell of Vermilion; son, David (Lisa) Snell of Avon Lake; daughters, Tricia (Chris) Diehl of Vermilion and Connie (Kevin) Rhodes of Amherst; grandchildren, Jared Diehl, Isabella Snell, Ian Diehl, Olivia Ellis, and Kayla, Brady, and Nathan Rhodes; and his sister, Donna Hopkins of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Delores (nee Griebel) Snell.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Military Honors conducted by the Vermilion Veterans Council at 2:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Vermilion Food Pantry, P.O. Box 228, Vermilion, OH 44089.

How I remember us neighborhood boys
(John along with John Moes, Terry Malone, and myself) playing little league baseball at South Street Elementary during the summer. We grow up, grow apart, and go our separate ways. But never forget. My condolences to Sue and the family. Rest in peace.
