Justine Cruz Marquez Obituary
AMHERST – Justine Cruz Marquez, 51 of Amherst, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 in her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 19, 1963 in Lorain. She graduated from Southview High School in 1981.
Justine owned and operated Affordable Cleaning and Maintenance Company since 1999. She catered food for internet cafes and parties.
Justine was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish, Lorain and I Am Not Alone cancer support group, where she was a volunteer. She enjoyed cooking, traveling. She loved to take care of her grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 4 years David Marquez of Amherst, son Nelson Cruz, daughter Tenisha Cruz of Amherst; brothers Frank (Susie) Cruz of Lorain and Randy (Mary) Cruz of Vermilion; sisters Debbie (Sergio) Rodriguez and Melissa Gachupin-Anzurez both of Lorain and 8 grandchildren.
Justine was preceded in death by her daughter Monica Antonia Cruz Marquez; parents Frank Cruz, Sr. and Rebecca Delgado; sisters Monica Vazquez and Mitzi Rodriguez and Antonio Silva who helped raise her.
Her family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st St., South Lorain. Her funeral will be Thursday with closing prayers in the funeral home at 10 AM then Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Saint Frances Cabrini Parish, Homewood Drive and Grove Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father John C. Retar, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
