Lawrence Petty Obituary
Larry was born on July 27, 1954 in Elyria, Ohio; the son of Frank and Joan (Balko) Petty, Jr. He moved in 1983 from Lorain, Ohio to Helena, Alabama, moving to Rockford in 1987. Larry was married to Gloria Judson for twenty-five years. He then married Cynthia Johnson-Ancona in Rockton, Illinois on July 27, 2002. Larry was previously employed as a service technician for PPG at Chrysler Corporation. He served in the U.S Army before receiving a medical discharge. Larry was a member of Star in The East Lodge 166, where he served as lodge secretary. He was a certified Masonic Lodge Instructor. Member of York Rite and Valley of Freeport Scottish Rite; Tebala Shrine Center. Larry graduated from Southview High School in Lorain, OH, in 1972. He was a avid golfer, enjoyed playing the banjo and was Santa at Christmas. His family was very important to him.
Larry is survived by wife, Cynthia; two sons, Ryan (Heidi) Petty, Roscoe, Illinois; Brent Ancona, Rockford, Illinois; two daughters Marcia and Michelle Petty, both of Rockford, Illinois; a grandson, Edward Schultz, of Rockford, Illinois; a Brother, Garon (Jeanne) Petty, Lorain, Ohio; a sister, Gayle Petty, Bay Village, Ohio; two nieces, Jennifer and Lisa and nephew, David.
He was preceded in Death by his parents and niece, Meredith.
Visitation 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 In Anderson-Long-Klontz Funeral Home Ltd. 6825 Weaver Road. A Masonic Service will follow at 5:15 p.m.
Memorials may be made in care of his family for memorial to is many volunteer groups.
