Martin E. Kobasic
LORAIN - Martin E. Kobasic, age 59, of Lorain, passed away on the evening of June 20, 2013 following a brief illness. Marty was born in Lorain on January 8, 1954 and remained a life-long resident of the city. He was a graduate of Lorain Catholic High School.
Most recently he had been working as a self-employed lawn maintenance man throughout greater Lorain; Marty enjoyed interacting with people and was endeared by all of clients.
He was a member of Lighthouse United Methodist Church in Lorain. He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians who enjoyed playing bingo in his free time, especially at the VFW hall.
He is survived by his daughter Christine Kobasic (mother - Mary Foor) of Lorain, by his parents Edward Kobasic, Sr. and Katherine (nee Lombardi) Kobasic of Lorain, by sisters Sr. Pamela Kobasic, I.H.M. of Monroe, Michigan, Christine (Richard) Backo of Bedford, and Dena Kobasic of Brecksville, and by brothers David (Kathleen) Kobasic of Coral Springs, Florida, Edward (Beth) Kobasic, Jr. of Collierville, Tennessee, Richard Kobasic (Jeanette Manley) of Amherst, Robert (Deborah) Kobasic of Olmsted Falls, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Please join Marty's family for a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday June 27th, in the Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain. Reverend Greg Sellers, Pastor of the church will officiate.
Your memorial contributions are encouraged to either Lorain Lighthouse Missions at Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain, OH 44053 or to the New Life Hospice, 3700 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel.
