Matthew Lucal Obituary
He was born March 4, 1987 in Norwalk and was a 2005 graduate of St. Paul High School, where he was also selected as an award recipient of Firelands Positive People in 2005. He was involved with the local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for over eight years, and was an Honorary Fire Chef in Norwalk in 2003. He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed Dale Earnhardt Jr. and enjoyed watching movies and all types of music including the Beatles, Phil Collins and music from Phantom of the Opera. He especially enjoyed watching The Ohio State University, Cleveland Browns, Cavs and Indians, especially Carlos Baerga. He was known for his kind heart and thoughtful phrases as a well spoken young man. He had wisdom beyond his years.
He is survived by his parents, Deborah and Raymond Lucal; brother, Nathan Lucal; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Smith; Uncles, Dave (Cindy) Smith, Dave (Val) Lucal, Rich (Donna) Lucal, Don Lucal; and aunt, Anna (Dick) Weisenberger; cousins, Shannon Ewell and Nathan Ewell, Shawn Lucal and Carol Lucal, Angie (Randy) Gardner, Kyle Lucal and Devon Lucal and Marissa Fussel.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Raymond Smith; paternal grandparents, Henry and Mary Lucal.
Friends may call on Monday 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 2:00 – 8:00 P.M. where a rosary will be recited at 2:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 38 W. League Street, Norwalk with the Rev. Tony Recker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
