Philip Deubel Obituary

MIMBRES, NEW MEXICO – Philip Wayne Deubel, 88 of Mimbres, New Mexico peacefully passed away Monday January 30, 2017 at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, New Mexico. Wayne was born in Dover Center (now Westlake), Ohio to Philip and Margaret Deubel. He graduated from Dover High School in 1946 and then, as president of the apprentice class, completed an apprenticeship with NACA that evolved into NASA. Wayne was employed by NASA at Lewis Research Center (now Glenn Research Center) in Ohio from 1949-1974 as an Engineer Technician/Contract Coordinator. He was a master of numerous trades. Wayne enjoyed spending summers at the family cottage, roller skating and dancing earlier in his life. He could whistle the most beautiful tune. He was a character of sorts, who nearly always wore Hawaiian shirts and he loved his motorcycles. He retired in 1974 at the age of 46 and moved to Florida. He enjoyed retirement in Florida until 2011 when he moved back to his home state of Ohio to be near family. He then relocated to Mimbres, New Mexico in 2016 to be close to two of his children, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to travel, and visited Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Jamaica, Alaska, Hawaii and most of the states in the US. Wayne was a lifelong Mason and was a member of the Eagles Lodge.
He is survived by his sons Dennis Wayne Deubel of Colville, Washington and Michael (and Roberta) Deubel of Mimbres, New Mexico, and daughter Susan (and Lon) Strombeck of Reserve, New Mexico; his granddaughter Tima (and Mike) Albidrez and great grandchildren Adryk Jovan and Sereniti Lea, and grandson Tommy Deubel, all of Silver City, New Mexico. Also, brothers Raymond Deubel of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Richard Deubel of Nederland, Colorado, William (and Connie) Deubel of Johnson Creek, Wisconsin and sister Peggy (and Walter) Pleban of Wakeman, Ohio, and his companion of many years, Evelyn Davis of Kailua, Hawaii. Wayne was loved by many cousins, nieces and nephews and will be missed by all who knew him. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Philip Raymond Deubel and Margaret Alice Deubel, and the mother of his children, Joanne (Wagner Deubel) Scrivo. Special love and care was given by the owners and staff of Compassionate Arms Assisted Living in Mimbres, New Mexico. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bright Funeral Home. A private memorial will be held at a later date. My sympathy to the family. As Jesus looked to the Heavenly Father for strength and power in his time of deep sorrow, may you do the same. John 11:39-44
