Brandon Lane Obituary
Brandon was born Sept. 20, 1977, in Pittsburg, Kan., and attended school in Pittsburg. He moved to Arkansas, where he fulfilled his lifelong passion and love of animals by opening a tropical bird breeding business. Brandon was an avid gardener who loved flowers and grew his own vegetables. He was a superb decorator and loved baking his grandmother's yeast rolls.
Brandon is survived by his husband and life partner Robert James Montgomery of Rogers, AR; his mother, Robbin Lane of Cherokee, KS; his sister Lacey Hutto and his three nieces, Maleah New, Kaiya Hutto, and Andra New of Pittsburg, KS; his maternal grandparents, Harold and Ann New of Chicopee, KS; and their large extended family, including his five uncles and their wives and his many cousins.
He is survived by his father, Michael McGee of Carthage, Mo., and his brothers, Monte Vann of Atlanta, GA, and Trevon Benner of Pittsburg, KS, and their extended family.
A celebration of life service for Brandon will be held at the Decatur Assembly of God at 674 N. Main, Highway 102 West, in Decatur, AR, on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. The service will be conducted by Pastor Tony Anderson. Anyone needing further information may call Robbin Lane at 620-687-4895. Family and friends are encouraged to bring photos celebrating Brandon's life.
Flowers and condolences may be sent to Rob Montgomery in care of Bill Montgomery at 752 E. Roller Ave, Decatur, AR.

I am so sorry to hear of Brandon's passing. I went to grade school with him in Cherokee. He was always a sweet, fun and caring person. I would see him occasionally in Pittsburg out and about. He will be greatly missed.

I am shocked to learn of Brandon's passing. It is so difficult as he was so very young. The same age as my son. It doesn't seem real. We spoke this summer as he was preparing to move to the Rogers AR area from Decatur. What a tremendous loss to his family and friends. When he was a teenager, he would stop by my house on the way to Lakeside Park, with his young sister in tow. He would stop by just to visit and chat. One time & on a very hot summer day, he stopped by with a dog that was having some heat related issues. He and I gave the dog tons of water to drink & eventually was ok. Brandon loved most everyone. He was a nice young person. He will definitely be missed. My condolences to his family, rob and his many friends.

So surprised to hear of Brandon's passing. I am shocked! He was such a sweet person. I spoke with him this past summer and he was so excited to get a new start in NW Arkansas! When he was still in school in Pittsburg, he use to stop by the house while taking a walk to Lakeside with his little sister. We would talk and visit for the longest time. I enjoyed our visits, swinging on the front porch swing. He also went to school with my son.and would come over. I am just so sorry that this young man is no longer with us. Bless his family during this awful time.

I would like to express my deepest sympathies to Brandon's family and friends. I went to the same high school as Brandon and he was always smiling, always friendly and just an all around nice guy. His smile could light up a room! The world truly is not as special of a place without a sweet soul like him. May you find peace in this difficult time.
