Dear Family of Mr. Gerald Beaman,
As a student of Mr. Beaman's in his algebra class at Central High in El Centro, CA, I held him in high esteem not only in his abilities as a math teacher, but just a wonderful, kind gentle person who never spoke of his past as a Hall of Famer for baseball. I look back on my class of '64 and think: how fortunate I was that I could be gifted with his presence. Warmest wishes of gratitude to his family and friends.

As a member of the CUHS class of '64, I shall always remember Mr. Beaman's presentation of algebra. It was so clear that I felt he taught us more about life itself and the manner in which he conducted himself as a teacher. His teaching was heartfelt and a lifelong lesson in the beautiful gift of his teaching to his students. Thank you, Mr. Beaman!

Mr. Beaman was my high school algebra teacher at Central High, El Centro, CA, graduate '64. I shall always remember his teaching skills and patience. He encouraged us to be the best we could be without lecturing, but by example of how he presented himself! Most admired and respected him.

A dear childhood friend and high school classmate Paula Smith (Rice) recently advised of Mr. Beaman's death in Kansas. My deepest sympathy extends to his wife and family. He naturally commanded the attention and respect of his Algebra students at Central High in the early '60s before he went on to become principal at Holtville High. I will always recall his wonderful patience and quiet enthusiasm in instilling this difficult subject to this student. I looked forward to learning in his class because of his natural gift as a teacher. There were students much smarter than I in his class but felt he believed in each one of us. I did not know his background, but in reading his obituary, saw that he was outstanding in every way. Not surprised at all to learn that. We were so fortunate to be graced by his teaching presence and that his seemingly quiet manner was really a reflection of his strength of character. A mark of a truly remarkable man. Please know Mrs. Beaman that upon learning of your dear husband's death almost 60 years after that Algebra class in the '60s, I was truly saddened by his passing. I am so grateful to have known him as a teacher almost 60 years ago. Sincerely,
Joyce Morita, Glendale, CA

Sorry to hear of Mr. Newman's passing. He was the principal at Holtville High when I graduated in 1969. An was still principal when I went to work for the school district in 1984. Nate was a good and fair person. Have to admit that we did have our difference when I was a student. Rest in peace "Mr. B"

Coach Beaman taught my algebra class at CUHS in El Centro,CA in 1959-60. He was so respected by all his students in the classroom and on the field. I wasn't fond of math but he was always patient with those who needed help. I send my sympathy to your family at this time and please know that he is missed by all who knew him.

Heartfelt condolences to "Coach" Beaman's family.
What an excellent math foundation he afforded me in Freshman Algebra at CUHS. He was always warm and friendly and provided a comfortable learning environment for his students.
