Robert F. York
Galena - Robert F. York age 88 of Galena, Kansas, passed away on August 30, 2021, in his home. He was born on February 27, 1933, in Joplin, Missouri, to his parents Walter and Nellie (Eddington) York. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Grangers. Bob proudly served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He was a Deacon at Lawton First Baptist Church and could be described as a very patient and caring man. Bob was preceded in death by his first wife Roberta York in 1999; his second wife Betty Ross in 2019; a son Gene York; his parents and six siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Julie Davidson; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Teo, Janet Crisler, Micah Davidson, Chris York, and Brad York; numerous great grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald York. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Lawton First Baptist Church in Lawton, Kansas, at 11:00am. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 10:00am until the start of services. Burial will follow the funeral service in Carl Junction Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. Visit www.simpsonfh.com for online condolences.
