Alice Mae Matuszewski, 83, of Morris, passed away Friday evening, January 2, 2015, at Morris Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St., in Morris with Rev. Steve Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born October 30, 1931, in Morris she was the daughter of Julius and Victoria(Claypool)Petersen. She married Peter Matuszewski on July 21, 1954, in Joliet. They spent their entire married life in Morris. She was a member of Living Waters Church in Morris. Alice was an avid bingo player and she and Pete loved to travel especially to Las Vegas. She worked at the Joliet Arsenal until they closed. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of sixty years; her children, Mike(Janice)Matuszewski, Dianne Zullo and Pamela Oaks all of Morris, Darlene Morrison of Clarksville, TN and Mary (Jake) Glazner of Orange, Texas; nineteen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Wicks and Barbara Arnold both of Morris; one brother-in-law, Larry Kenney of Morris, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Patricia Ramirez; two granddaughters, Opal Lamison and Jennifer Dwonzowski; a great grandson, Michael Lamison; sons-in-law, Gerald Zullo and Chuck Morrison; brothers, Paul and Robert Petersen; sisters, Helen Rogers, Anne Henry and Phyllis Kenney.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
