Died: Oct. 4, 2015; in Minooka, IL
John "JB" Charles Brown, age 50, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 4, 2015, at his home in Minooka.
He was born to the late Charles and Helen Brown on April 13, 1965, in Joliet. On August 30, 1986 he married Maurene McDonald at St. Mary's Church in Minooka. He worked at Commonwealth Edison for 16 years, was a Local 150 Operator for 6 years and was currently employed at Minooka High School. John had a special place in his heart for his "Reach" Students that he checked on daily. John was an avid Notre Dame fan and he will always be known for his infectious laugh and smile and the ability to light up a room with his presence.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen; and stepmother, Hazel (McEvilly) Brown.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 29 years, Maurene; their two children, Dakota and Darby of Minooka; and brother, Dave of Effingham; 2 step sisters, Carol (Ed) Lamping of Minooka, Nancy (Mike) Hayse of Galena; and stepbrother, Terry (Barb) McEvilly of Channahon; and many nieces and nephews.
On any given day you could find John sitting back by the pool with family and friends talking about the "good old days." John had a special bond with his cousins Rick, Billy and Tom whom he loved like brothers, but the love of his life were his two children.
Mass of Christian Burial for John C. Brown will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 ,at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Minooka at 10:30 a.m. Please meet directly at Church. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Minooka. Visitation will be Thursday, October 8, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The Maple Funeral Home, Channahon.
