Lore Trinchen Bergman, age 79, of Wilmington and formerly of Joliet, Minooka and Manhattan, passed away January 22, 2016.
Born October 3, 1936, Lore was a daughter of the late Albert and Meta (Nordhausen) Siemon. She was raised and educated in Wietzen, Germany until moving to the United States at the age of 17. Lore attended Business College in Chicago and worked for both Associated Aviation and Canadian American Insurance in Chicago. On November 18, 1967, Lore married Donald Bergman in Lockport, and later went to work for the Catholic Diocese of Joliet, where she retired from the Chancery office after 22 years of service. Lore was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wilmington, and took great pleasure in cooking, flower gardening and crocheting. She will most be remembered as a wonderful, loving and caring wife, mother and Oma, who cherished her family.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; sons, Daniel (Vicki) Bergman of Noblesville, IN and Sean (Jennifer) Bergman of Bryan, OH; grandchildren, Addison, Katelyn, Jackson, Lindsay, Darcy and McKenna Bergman; sisters and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Siemon of Germany and David (Charlene) Bergman of Mokena; and nieces and nephews, Astrid (Heiner) Passe, Sabine (Bernd) Schramm and Heike Wandmacher, all of Germany, and Linda (Mike) Fox, Barbara (Alfredo) Bergman and Meg (Brian) Kelly, all of Illinois.
Lore was preceded by her parents; brothers, Hienz and Walter Siemon; and sisters, Ilse Heidorn and Mariechen Schleufe.
Visitation and video tribute will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Thursday, January 28th at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, 907 Luther Drive in Wilmington. Pastor Zak Wagner will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following of the services, and inurnment will be private.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Lore's memory to Grace Lutheran Church, 907 Luther Drive, Wilmington, Illinois 60481 or Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 South Main Street, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
