Neva Pauline Roe, 92, of Dwight, IL passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Heritage Health in Dwight. Born June 28, 1928 in Queen City, Missouri, Pauline was the daughter of the late Emery and Myrtle (Riley) Steen.
Pauline attended Morris High School. She married Leland M. Roe in Bethlehem Lutheran Church Parsonage in Morris on March 15, 1946. They had three children Shirley (Alan) Love of Morris, Virginia Yunker of Ottawa and Kevin (Barb) Roe of Odell, IL.
Pauline worked for 26 years at the First Midwest Bank of Morris. Leland and Pauline built a number of homes over the years and enjoyed square dancing and traveling around the country in their RV's. She enjoyed quilting and won the Best of Show at the Grundy County Corn Festival one year with one of her quilts. She was a member of First Christian Church of Morris.
She is survived by her children; her grandchildren: Ed (Pam) Hemmersbach of Owensboro, KY, Kim Bezely of Morris, Amanda (Merle) Barber of Verona, MO, Saria Love (Alex Allsop) of Detroit Lake, MN, Larry (Rita) Yunker II of Whitehouse, OH, Julie (Jeff) Craig of Morris, Rebecca (Ed) Biggins of Ottawa, Kelsey Kowalski of Seneca, Lucas Roe and Logan Roe, both of Odell, IL; 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren and 9 step great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland in 2018; her parents; one sister, Mary Gladstone, and one brother, Emery Jack Steen, and three grandchildren.
A private family service will be held with a Celebration of Pauline's Life officiated by Pastor Chuck Richardson. Due to Covid, everyone is asked to wear a mask and respect the social distancing.
Pauline will be laid to rest with her husband Leland in Sample Cemetery.
Preferred memorial contributions may be made in Pauline's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at ALSAC/St. Jude's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
