Age 65 of Morris, formerly of Manteca, CA, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021.
Born September 21, 1956 in Chicago, Patty was a daughter of Denis II and Rita (Buczko) Foley. She was raised in Chicago and graduated from Romeoville High School. On April 1, 1978, Patty married Michael Joseph Elsen, Sr.
She and her husband began their married life in Chicago before moving to Manteca, California, where they lived for twenty years. Upon her husband's passing, Patty relocated to Morris where she lived for the rest of her life. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris and worked at Walmart in Morris for several years as a customer service associate until she retired. Patty enjoyed any type of crime show or drama, and was a lover of all animals. She was particularly interested in bird watching, little wild creatures, and above all else, her dogs.
Patty lived for her family and relished her role as a mother and grandmother. She maintained close relationships with all of her extended family, and especially looked forward to family gatherings and holiday parties when she could be surrounded by all the people that she loved.
Survivors include her two children: Michael (Melissa) Elsen, Jr. and Kathleen Elsen; two grandchildren: Mila Elsen and Patrick Elsen; two brothers and two sisters: Denis (Lisa) Foley III Laura (Romo) Manuel, Thomas (Denise) Foley, and Susan (Santiago) Padilla; one uncle and one aunt: Paul (Donna) Buczko and Maureen Hutton; twelve nieces and nephews: Denis Foley IV, Kristina Kripple, Amy (Brad) Mast, David (Amber) Kripple, Nathan (Amy) Foley, Emily Padilla, Sara Padilla, Mary Ann Bicknell, Karen Grace, Christopher (Lisa) Elsen, Lisa (Rob) Jordan, and Andrew (Mili) Elsen; numerous great nieces and great nephews, including Eva Foley who was her little buddy; and her canine companion, Lily.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Michael, one aunt, Rosalie (Leo) Skovran, and two beloved dogs: Lady and Yogi.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Reeves Funeral Home, Morris from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow Friday, November 12, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church, Morris at 10:00 a.m., and burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.
All attendees of the visitation and funeral services are required to wear face masks.
