William Griggs Obituary
William Mohr Griggs passed away peacefully July 30, 2022 in Green Castle, MO. William was the loving companion and best friend of Carol Blaha for 17 beautiful years.
William grew up in Morris, IL, where he attended Morris Grade School and graduated from Morris High School. Right out of high school, William enlisted in the US Army for 4 years, during which he served in Vietnam. William truly loved being a farmer, he specifically loved farming for Bill Norton and Doc Hill. He was employed through Personal Products, in Wilmington, IL, where he was a skilled and very hard worker. William always enjoyed working with his hands and very skilled woodworker. William and Carol enjoyed their retirement in Green Castle, MO.
William is survived by his three daughters; Laurie Griggs (Oglesby, IL), Jennifer Griggs (Groton, CT), and Lisa (Aman) Raj (Plainfield, IL); grandchildren, Jared Griggs, Devon Lowe-Griggs, Jackson Beene, and Caleb Raj; great-grandchild Jakob Allen; siblings, Barbara (Rick) Adams and Peggy Zweeres; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Milford Nesbit Griggs and Bernice "Peggy" (Comrie) Griggs, and his sister Madelyn Crump.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, at UC Davis-Callahan Funeral Home, with a service to follow at 1:00 pm.
