Betty Kern Obituary

Betty G. Kern was born in Staples, MN on January 27, 1930 to Alex and Hilder Krantz. She was married to Larry Silas Kern on May 16, 1955. The couple worked together farming and caring for their three children. In 1969, the couple moved to Little Falls, where Larry began construction work. Betty loved taking care of her family and her home, her gorgeous flowers (Betty had a green thumb!) and she was a fabulous cook!

In 1960, before the move to Little Falls, Larry and Betty were baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses. They enjoyed talking to others about the future promises of life everlasting, in good health, under God's Kingdom arrangement by His son, Christ Jesus. Larry and Betty were happily married, until Larry's death in 2019. Betty loved attending the meetings at the Kingdom Hall, and was a regular attender on Zoom when she was no longer able to make it in person.

Betty is survived by her daughters Cathy (Lou) Kowalczyk and Susan Kern, one son Terry (Shelly), brother Jim Krantz, granddaughter Jody Schneider (Kowalczyk), and grandson Dustin Kern.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents, Alex and Hilder; and one sister, Mary.

The family would like to express appreciation to family and friends for their support, and for the outstanding care Betty received from the caregivers at Little Falls Care Center and from Centracare Hospice.
