In Loving Memory of Eileen May (Roscoe) Avery
1931-2025
With full hearts and deep gratitude for her long and beautiful life, the family of Eileen May (Roscoe) Avery announces her peaceful passing on November 23, 2025, at the age of 94. Eileen was a woman of remarkable grace, kindness and quiet strength - qualities that shaped every chapter of her life and touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born to Joseph and Blanche Roscoe, Eileen grew up in a close-knit family that instilled her values of loyalty, compassion and hard work. These values remained the foundation of her life and guided the way she treated others- with gentleness, understanding and unwavering love.
Eileen possessed a rare ability: she listened. She truly heard people, especially her four children. Her kitchen table, her living room, and even her phone line were often places where worries were lifted, joys were shared, and hearts were steadied. Her children knew she was their safe place, their constant, and their fiercest advocate.
She had an eye for beauty and style- in her home, her wardrobe, and in the world around her. Eileen carried herself with elegance and quiet grace, a combination that made her presence comforting and inspiring.
A gifted musician, Eileen was an accomplished saxophone soloist who shared her love of music with her husband and kids. She also had a special love for the piano - often sitting down to play while others gathered around to sing. Those moments of shared music filled her home with joy, harmony and a sense of togetherness that her family will always cherish.
In 1951, Eileen married Tom Avery, beginning a partnership of love, humor, and devotion. Their marriage was a testament to commitment - two people building a life side by side, balancing strength with tenderness and facing challenges with unity and grace. Together, they created a family rooted in loyalty, compassion and connection.
Eileen's greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother. She poured her heart into her family, guiding them with strength and patience, celebrating their achievements, and offering comfort in difficult times.
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Blanche Roscoe; her brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Shirl Roscoe; her sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Merle Montgomery; her son Keith (Zelda) Avery; and her great-grandson, Martin Strom.
She is survived by her daughters Deb (Howard) Oslund, Sue (Leo) Flosi, Mary (Jim) Wiczek; nine grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Her love, strength, and gentle presence will live on through each of them.
