Estella Virnig Obituary
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Aaron Nett officiating. Burial will take place in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 A.M. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Pierz.
Estella E. James was born on June 29, 1935 to the late Clifton and Elizabeth (Hebler) James in Little Falls, MN. She graduated from Little Falls High School with the Class of 1953. Estella was united in marriage to Joseph E. Virnig on April 20, 1954 in Pierz, MN. She had many jobs throughout her life with the most rewarding being a wife and mother. Estella enjoyed playing bingo, cards, shaking dice and watching Minnesota Twins baseball.
She is survived by her children, David P. Virnig of Pierz, MN, Linda M. Otremba of Pierz, MN and Ken (Betty) Virnig of Little Falls, MN; son-in-law, Dennis Hoffman; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Virnig and many nieces and nephews.
Estella was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Virnig (1992); daughter, Janice Hoffman (2021); son-in-law, James Otremba (1990); father and mother-in-law, Carl and Marie Virnig; brothers, LeRoy James, Lloyd James, and Marvin James and infant sister, Mary Ann James.
Caring for Stella and her family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Pierz, MN.
