I never knew Fred, but I believe his father John was a brother to my Grandfather Martin Sauer. Martin and John were 2 of 13 children in the Sauer family. I have a sweet picture of the 8 Sauer brothers together when they all played on the Rice baseball team.
Someday it would be nice to connect and perhaps share pictures and how the family tree grew.
My name is Jarolyn Watkins.
Martin Sauer was my Grandfather on my mom´s side. I am 74 and live in St Cloud.
Martin married Mathilda Stodolka and they had 3 children. Gerald, Evelyn (my mom), and Arthur. A stillborn baby named Winter was also born but did not survive.
I am sorry I never knew Fred, but I do know that Sauer people were and are good people. Please accept my condolences.
