Harvey M. Britz, 86-year-old resident of Buckman, MN, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the Pierz Villa in Pierz, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 2, 2025 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman, MN with Father Ken Popp officiating. Burial in the St. Michael's Parish Cemetery in Buckman, MN. Visitation held from 9:00-11:00 A.M. on Friday at St. Michael's Parish Hall in Buckman, MN. Caring for Harvey and his family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Pierz, MN.

Harvey Britz was born on March 22, 1939, in Little Falls, MN, to the late John and Anna (Schmitt) Britz. He grew up in Little Rock, MN, and attended Country School until the second grade. He then transferred to St. Michael's Catholic School in Buckman, where he continued through the eighth grade before attending Fr. Pierz Memorial High School. Following graduation, Harvey proudly served six years in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1958 to 1964. On August 23, 1975, he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Meyer at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. Harvey worked as a truck driver for Gypsum George Drywall in Minneapolis, which later became Tamarack Materials, Inc. He continued driving boom truck for the company until his retirement in 2002.

An avid outdoorsman, Harvey loved hunting and fishing. He also took great pride in gardening, cultivating beautiful flowers, fruits, vegetables, and trees. Harvey was a longtime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman and the Hillman American Legion Post #602. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by wife, Mary Lou Britz; daughters, Jean Britz and Julie Britz; brother-in-law, Percy Dubbin and many nieces and nephews.

Harvey was preceded in death by parents, John and Anna Britz; brothers, Sylvester (Diel) Britz, Herbert (Esther) Britz, and Wilfred Britz; sisters, Leona (Leo) Mischke, Arlene (Jim) Bergeron and Lavina Dubbin.
