Joan O'Hotto Obituary
Memorial Services held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Alex Becker officiating. Visitation held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Service live-streamed on the funeral home website. Old time music, drinks, and lunch at the family home, on the hill, following the service. Bonfire weather permitting.
Joan Marie Sobania was born on July 5, 1945 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Roman and Marian (Super) Sobania. Joan grew up on the family farm near Flensburg, along with her four siblings. She attended Little Falls High School, graduating in 1964. On July 30, 1966, she was united in marriage to Lawrence G. O'Hotto. They made their home on the hill near South Haven, where they raised their three children. Joan worked for Bernatello's for 20+ years. She liked to be outdoors tending to her flowers, gardening, and watching the hummingbirds. Throughout her life, Joan had a special interest in music, especially Elvis. Joan loved a good conversation and sharing little known facts she just learned. She was a straight-shooter, and while she may have been stern, she was also fair. Of all the enjoyments in life, nothing brought her greater joy than being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Brenda (Reed) Pritchard of Big Lake, Robert (friend, Adam) O'Hotto of Monticello, and Jill O'Hotto of Walker; grandchildren, Morgan, Hunter, Noah, Rylan, and Jack; siblings, Betty (Marcie) Frank of Becker, Dave (Val) Sobania of Swanville, Alvin (Patty) Sobania of Flensburg, and Louise (Mike) Frank of Flensburg; and nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Urn bearers: Rylan Pritchard, Jack O'Hotto, Morgan Tshida, and Kaleb Graeber.
Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Joannie and I were friends and neighbors as we were growing up. had many great times together. She will be missed.
