Delana Wilburn, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, age 74, of Cardington, passed away on September 16, 2025, at Marion General Hospital. She was born on June 14, 1951, in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Kenneth and Lorene (Duncan) Meadows.
Delana was a loving homemaker. Delana's greatest passion in life was caring for her family, and she found joy in nurturing and supporting those she loved. Above all, her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Delana's warmth, kindness, and dedication to her loved ones will be deeply missed by her family.
On February 10, 1968, Delana married Johnny Wilburn in Mount Gilead, they spent 49 amazing years together until his passing on January 13, 2018.
Delana is survived by her daughters: Lisa Winchell of Cardington and Teresa (Jim) Phillips of Howard; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her brother David (Anita) Meadows of Mount Gilead.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Delana was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Meadows Jr and granddaughter Sarah Morlan.
Friends may call on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington with the funeral service directly starting at 1:00 PM. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Glendale Union Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the St. Jude's, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
