MARENGO - Eileen Brown, age 91 of Marengo passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at DeWolfe Place. She was born on June 21, 1934, in London, Ohio to the late Jake and Opal (Wiles) Peterman.
Eileen was a 1952 graduate of West Jefferson High school. After graduation she worked at Ranco, bred horses and sold real estate properties.
Eileen was a passionate horse breeder who dedicated her life to caring for and raising horses. She also found great joy in watching Hallmark movies, especially during the Christmas season.
On May 26, 1968, Eileen married Walter E. Brown in Jerome, Ohio. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2016.
Eileen is survived by her children: Kathy Oliver of Marion, Douglas (Sharon) Edwards of Cardington, stepson Ronald (Ruthy) Brown of Cardington, and stepdaughter Melinda Brown of Whitehall; grandchildren: Jake and Kyle Edwards, Tracy and Trevor Oliver, Courtney Myers and Adrianne Brown, Rodney, Jodi, Shelby and Kasey Brown; and sixteen great- grandchildren; as well as her siblings: Kenny Peterman, Jimmy Peterman, Mary Wygle, Nancy Neason, Leona Miller, Patty Lewis and Carol Edgell.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her stepson Gary Brown, her siblings: Frank Peterman, Betty Bishop, and Bobby and Jacob Peterman twin brothers at birth.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington with the funeral service directly following at 1:00 PM with Celebrant LeAnne Gompf officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Fulton Cemetery. Gompf Funeral Service of Cardington is honored to have been chosen to assist the Brown family.
