Francesca Louise Casto, age 63, of Sunbury, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Director of Nursing at Guardian Angel Home Health Care. Member of Sigma Theta Tau. Active in the Ohio Nurses Association. Francesca was a hard worker and very determined.
She was very proud of the fact that she left school at age 15 to start a family, receiving her GED at 18 when she would have graduated high school and already had both of her daughters. She enjoyed reading, politics, gardening – especially herb gardening, loved to cook and entertain and was honored to have been a guest lecturer in Political Science courses at Ashland and OSU-Mansfield. Francesca is preceded in death by mother, Marilyn LaDonna Casto; father, John Francis Casto; and brother, Stewart J. "Jimmy" Casto.
She is survived by significant other, Bert L. Rose; loving children, Angel R. Peters of North Port, FL, Amy R. Grose of Charlotte County, FL, Edward Alexander Nygren (Mackenzie) of Boston, MA; grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Brandon, and Andrew Young, Kyle Grose; great-grandchildren, Carter, Ava and Charlotte; sister, Martie Hebert Miracle of California; aunt and uncle, Mary and Don Knox of Maryland, closest friend, Laura Trainer Young of Edison, OH. Memorial Service 10 AM Friday, November 23, 2018 at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 State Route 61, (at SR 61), Sunbury.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Turning Point, P.O. Box 875, Marion, OH 43301 to support their mission of providing services to victims of domestic violence, a cause dear to Francesca. DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home of Sunbury is honored to serve Francesca's family.
