1948 ~ 2013
Garden Valley resident Michael E Thompson Sr, 65, passed away November 25, 2013, at his home in Garden Valley, ID.
A service will be held Monday December 9, 2013 at The Idaho Veterans Cemetery in Boise Idaho at 2:00pm.
MIchael E Thompson Sr. was born Jan. 14, 1948, in Oxnard, California.
He graduated with his General Education Diploma upon entering the United States Army on May 23, 1966, where he faithfully served his country as a medic in Vietnam, from that point he continued to serve for a period of five years.
He came to Garden Valley in July 1994. Since moving to Garden Valley Michael shared his love for the great outdoors with his many friends and family. Michael enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies. Michael had a great love for riding his Harley Davidson, he not only enjoyed riding, but also working on his motorcycles with those who knew him best. When not riding his motorcycle he spent many hours outdoors fishing and enjoying the scenery of his beautiful Garden Valley property. Michael had a loving spirit and would help anyone and everyone that he could. He was a gentle person and all who knew him were truly blessed.
Michael was a member of the Idaho Coalition For Motorcycle Safety and was one of the founding members. He held the organization very near and dear to his heart.
He is survived by his wife DaVon Marie Thompson of Garden Valley, daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Calvin Dopp of Utah; Step-daughters and son-in-laws Monica and Scott Hayes and Jessica and Austin Nauahi of Idaho. Grandchildren Michael E Thompson III, Franklin, Elijah, Chloe, JC, Samantha, Madalin, and Roxanna. Michael is also survived by his Brother Jim and wife Ina Thompson of Caldwell Idaho and many other nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Michael was preceded in death by his son, Michael E Thompson II, both his Mother and Father, and many friends that will truly never be forgotten.
Bowman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Bubba you will be greatly missed and never forgotten, until we meet again.

Mike, you will be missed by our family. I have great memories of you of the times we spent together. I wish we could have lived closer so we could have seen you more. It was always great to visit with you at the family reunions and your visits at my parent's home. I know my Mom thought of you as a son, not a nephew. While she will not get on the computer, I want you to know how much she loved you and how deeply she misses you, we all do.
