MOUNT GILEAD - Richard William Bending passed away peacefully on January 23, 2024, at the age of 86.
Born on November 24, 1937, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Harless and Rosella (Soulier) Bending.
Richard's life was marked by a strong work ethic and a dedication to providing for his family.
After High School Richard joined the United States Marines where he earned a good conduct medal.
Richard began a career as a machinist at HPM, where he contributed his skills and knowledge for many years. Outside of his professional endeavors, Richard had a passion for history and archaeology. He was a member of the Ohio Archaeological Society.
Richard's legacy lives on through his beloved children: Danny (Liz) Bending of Denver NC., and Rick Bending of Ashley; three grandchildren: Colbi (Jason) Pauley, Kenia Williamson, and Caleb Price; two great-grandchildren: Jaylinn Pauley and Callie Pauley.
A private family burial will take place in the Rivercliff Cemetery at a later date.
