Alfred Pettitt Obituary

Alfred S. Pettitt 1929 - 2012 SHORTSVILLE/HALL - Alfred S. Pettitt, 82, died peacefully on Jan. 8, 2012, at Strong Memorial Hospice Center and went home to be with the Lord. Alfred was born on June 6, 1929, in Ontario, Canada, and was raised by his mother Edna Pettitt in Rochester. He will be remembered for serving his country, receiving honorable discharges from both the U.S. Navy and National Guard. He continued serving his country by working as a nurse at the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua, retiring after 16 years. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen (David) Busch of Naples; grandson, Daniel Warrilow of Los Angeles, Calif.; sister, Judith (Arthur) Webber of Wolcott; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by; his wife of 41 years, Betty; and sister, Louisea Donely. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, at 2 p.m. at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home, 19 N. Main St., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alfred's name may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Beltfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256; or at www.woundedwarriorsproject.org.
