F. Keith Bennett IONIA/BLOOMFIELD - F. Keith Bennett, age 91, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at F.F. Thompson Hospital. He is survived by two children, Roger (Jean Kay) Bennett and Kathy (Richard) Belding, both of Ionia; five grandchildren, Richard Lee (Lynda) Belding, Renee (Thomas) Kugris, Ross (Myrna) Belding, Rodney (Missy) Belding and Rory (Jodi) Bennett; five great-grandchildren, Ridge, Carson, Brooke, Annalisa and Andrew; sister, Rowena Bennett of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Thelma (Page) Bennett, in 2002; and two brothers, Edgar and Claude Bennett. Mr. Bennett was born in Bloomfield and was the son of Lester W. and Alma (Keith) Bennett. He attended Bloomfield schools and was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, class of 1940. Mr. Bennett married his high school sweetheart Thelma on June 25, 1940 in Honeoye Falls. He owned and operated L.W. Bennett and Sons Farms, which included a dairy farm and mink farm. Mr. Bennett also owned and operated the former Locust Lawn Restaurant in Ionia for over 20 years. He was a member of Ionia United Methodist Church. Mr. Bennett enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. There will be no calling hours. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at Ionia United Methodist Church, 2120 Elton Road, Ionia. Interment will be in East Bloomfield Cemetery.
