Another year has passed without an extraordinary friend and vet. You were the best, but now you are at peace. We shall never forget you, and all you did for our many fur babies.

My memories of Jack are fondly remembered today on the anniversary of his passing. He was so wise, so smart, and so caring. He loved his patients, and he cared deeply for those of us who needed support when our "kids" were sick. He was second to none as a person and a veterinarian who was taken too soon.

Occasionally I drive by the office in Phelps and think of Jack who to me is irreplaceable. Every visit to the vet with our basset reminds me of Jack and how he cared for his patients and most importantly those of us who love our furry babies. Even when he was sick, he never turned down my phone call with a question. I'm so happy that I had a friend like Jack who loved animals as I do and who taught me so much about veterinary medicine.

It seems like yesterday that we learned of Jack's passing. Strange how last week I was talking about him and no matter how near or far we go, no one can replace the obvious love and genuine caring he had for our furry friends. Jack taught me so much about basset hounds, and I'm forever grateful to him for his mentoring.

When I look at our newly adopted basset, my immediate thought was of Jack who took care of all my fur babies. I so miss his intuitive expertise and most important, his kindness towards his patients and their family. I have yet to find a veterinarian who can even come close to Jack's ability and caring. You are missed by many.

I frequently talk about Jack since we have yet to find a veterinarian who is as knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring as Jack. We would travel from Buffalo to Phelps to see him, and when we got two new basset hound puppies, the breed that Jack had, I asked him to do the spaying and neutering. Even though he was sick, he agreed to doing the procedures. I miss him as do our fur babies. No one can replace the talents he had.

I was just told of Dr. Wright's death by a coworker of mine who also goes to Phelps Vet Hospital. I recently found a vet closer to home in Webster because it's too far to drive. Dr. Wright was such a lovely man! I am saddened to hear this news. He was such a gentle soul, and my dog loved him! Dr. Wright did wonderful surgery on my lab's ACL a few years back. I will miss him. My thoughts are with his family during this time. He will be greatly missed.

I have just read the story on the passing of John Wright and am deeply saddened to know that I will never have the pleasure of seeing him again. Dr. Wright has been caring for our children for more than 20 years. We owe him a large debt of thanks for saving the life of one of them. In 2000, both of our very young cats had taken ill very fast. Dr.Wright's office had been closed for the the weekend and
against my better judgement, I took them to a friends vet.
They diagnosed Baxter with feline lukiemia and he his sister
Debbie both with a upper respritory infection and sent me home with meds. For four days I was awake nursing them.
Debbie got better, but Baxter got worse. I took him to Dr. Wright who immediatley pointed out to me that his mouth was full of blisters which was why he wouldn't even driink
because of the horrific pain from them. He gave me meds
and instructions to eye dropper him water every half hour.
I was a basket case for a whole week, but I'm happy to say
they both fully recovered and even though Baxter has the FIV virus after almost 9 years has done amazingly well. I give the credit mainly to Doc, who spotted something right
away that was missed by the other vet.
We will miss him. Our condolences to Mrs. Wright and the rest of the family. He was a gentle man and a great human being. I'm sure he's in heaven caring for all of our children who are up there with him. God Bless You Doc!

When I was in high school I worked at the Vets office. Dr. Wright took me into the back to show me the kennels that I had to clean. He opened this one with this huge dog which I think was a Doberman or it might of been a great Dane. I think Doberman because his name was Doby! He opened the door and said go right in he won't hurt you. The dog grabbed my arm in his mouth and started shaking it up and down. I almost fainted right on the spot. Now I am not afraid of dogs but he was big! Dr. Wright stood there laughing and said that is how he says Hi! Once I was over the shock of a dog clamping down on my arm I laughed! Someone had taken the dog there to board him and never came back to get him. I don't remember what happened to him either but he probably got adopted by someone. He was there quite a while because I remember cleaning up after him for quite a while! Every time I went in he would grab my arm and shake it then I had to clean the dog slime off! This was about 30 years ago! I remember it like it was yesterday. He was a fantastic person and a great Veterinarian.

Dr. Wright cared for our "kid's". For many, many year's.
His helping hand, and finely honed professional mind. Is one [1] of the big reason's we here. Have truly smiled in our home with our little "furbie's". Since first meeting him, and his group of fine folk.
We will truly miss him, but just know. Heaven has a new Angel up there now. One [1] I can't wait to see once again, and say "thanks" too :- ]

We are so sorry to hear of Dr. Wright's passing. He was the most compassionate person I have ever known. We wouldn't even consider taking our pets elsewhere. He literally saved my beloved cat several years ago and gave us five more years with him. I'll never forget Dr. Wright making Tigger a special "outfit" to make him more comfortable. I write this with tears in my eyes but a smile in my heart knowing Dr. Wright is in heaven taking care of all our pets again. God Bless you all.

Jack's legacy will live on as one of the most caring persons we have ever encountered. He was passionate about his work with his patients and their families, and we always knew that our beloved pets were in the best of hands. Now he is in the hands of the Great One, and he will rest in peace. We miss him already, yet we will never forget him.

Dr. Wright has cared for my family's pets since I was just a little girl. I'm 44 years old now, and was still taking our family pets to Dr. Wright's office. Our pets could have gotten no better care than from him and the staff in his office. We will miss him dearly.
